It’s May and we’re finally seeing temperatures that are warm enough for just about everyone to ride in.
The "Open" section continues to be the most active with lots of thought provoking threads such as the "What’s Old School to you?" . That thread is pretty funny and worth a look. I’m always amazed at the widely varied types of threads here; from the sublime to the outwardly weird. Never ceases to entertain.
"New Members" has even more new people checking in everyday. SGee, Tito33, CarlW629, Honda13 and Dontutrip are a few of the new guys that have just signed up. Let’s go out of our way to welcome them to CR and help them get involved with riding in Chicago. We’ve all met some great friends on here and these guys could be in your group of friends soon if you make a little effort to meet them.
Want to ride and can’t think of someplace to go? The "Who’s Riding" section is popping with rides just about every day. The Cinco de Mayo ride, T-Poles’s epic cruise to Carbondale on Memorial Day Weekend ( a "must ride" for everyone. Loads of peeps go on this one and it never disappoints!), and the Westward Ho’s trip happens at the end of May as does SmartBiker’s Around the Lakes Ride. Loads of riding opportunities so I don’t wanna hear anyone say "No one ever rides anymore" There’s always a Deal’s Gap / Tennessee trip being planned by someone, too. Expect to see some trips to West Virginia, Southeastern Ohio and Kentucky on tap this summer as well.
There’s lots of activity in "Chick chat" as well. But I’m not a chick, so I haven’t a clue what they’re babbling about. We have some very dedicated lady riders on CR and would like to have lots more. Ladies are more than welcome here!
Track whores are heading to Road America and Putnam this month. Your bike is rashed to Hell anyway; why not tape up the headlights and head out with them? Might learn a thing or two, break some bones and spend a lot of money – but think of the fun you’ll have!
We’re asking all of the site members to remember to take pictures of your rides and stunt location activity. Most of our reader’s have Attention Deficit Disorder and pictures really help them keep focused on the article that they’re trying to read. Makes the site look better, too! So take loads of pictures and put them up in the "Post Riding and Get Togethers" section.
And don’t forget Bike Night at Michael Anthony’s Pizza in Villa Park – Tuesdays at 7:00 PM!
Now get out there and ride!!!
